If that position ultimately holds sway, it could be argued that the past value of senior management and a tight, cohesive corporate culture could be open to second guessing. It is now up to management to project and reinforce its value in a myriad of ways or organizations will revert to a collection of self-managed isolated people without the loyalty that comes from shared values, teamwork and fun. It will be interesting to see how this tug of war ultimately plays out.
